This news comes after USA and the United Kingdom were both added to the Roaming service early last month. There are now 14 countries included in the very successful plan.
Digicel Fiji Chief Executive, Mr. Darren McLean said,” The inclusion of Hong Kong and Singapore is in line with our commitment to provide our customers a seamless roaming experience and great value.
Hundreds of Fiji rugby fans are travelling to the ‘mecca’ of Sevens this week and to Singapore Sevens next week.
While they’re enjoying the rugby fiesta Digicel offers the convenience of always keeping their phones switched on and sharing their experience at the rugby with family and friends worldwide.”
“The number of Fijian business and leisure travellers to Hong Kong and Singapore is growing rapidly with up to eight flights per week to both popular destinations, and the ‘Roam Like You’re Home’ service will allow our customers to stay connected with business and continue to do their office work while in Asia.”
“We plan to keep expanding our international roaming services for a better customer experience. Through close collaboration with our roaming partners, we have been able to bring something entirely unique to the Fiji market.”
The exciting roaming service was introduced last August and has proved a success among Fijians travelling to Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu and Nauru with the USA and UK added to the list last month.
All Digicel customers, prepaid and postpaid will now pay the same low rates when roaming in 14 countries as they would when they are at home in Fiji. McLean added, “There is only one smart choice for your mobile provider and that is Digicel”.
All Digicel customers can now opt into a Roaming Passport before or after arrival for just FJD$15 per day.
This service offers 100 minutes of calling, 100 text messages and 100Mb of data.
