Samoan businesses get a boost

Local businesses in Samoa will have the opportunity to build their capabilities at a Pacific Trade Invest New Zealand workshop in Apia, on November 6.

Pacific Trade Invest joined forces with Samoa Association of Manufacturers and Exporters (SAME) to prepare the groundwork for the marketing and promotion of the Path to Market and Investment Profiling workshop.

Workshops recently held in the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Cook Islands were a huge hit with businesses, and the one-day event in Apia is expected to be just as well received.

The workshop in Apia will cover different topics on trade and investment such as understanding customers and how it can benefit your business; getting ready for the export market – regulations and requirements; and marketing – developing your company story and value proposition.

It will also look at understanding product costing, pricing and profitability; global investment climate; ease of doing business snapshot; foreign investment trend; opportunities for investment; how to make an investment decision; and structuring and preparing a compelling business plan.

Senior staff of PTI will conduct the workshop, while representatives from EIF International will also present on the supply chain scenario and important points to consider when shipping export commodities from the producer to buyers/importers and wholesalers.

Representatives from EIF International, which offers reliable transport solutions, will also discuss challenges and issues to avoid during the export process.
