New pre-school opens on Savai’i

The children of Sili, Savai’i, Samoa have a new pre-school building thanks to funding from Australia under its Direct Aid Program.

Australia provided WST50,000 in building materials for construction of the preschool.

Marzena Luton of the Australian High Commission officially handed over the keys to the building during a ceremony in Savaii recently.

Luton said the new building was a symbol of the partnership for development between Australia and Samoa.

The Direct Aid Program funds small-scale activities to help village communities, churches, schools and non-government organisations to provide services for their communities.
