4 rugby fans to travel to Hong Kong for Sevens competition

Four rugby fans will be travelling to Hong Kong in the coming week to support Manu 7s in person thanks to a special promotion by a local beverage company.

More than a $100,000 tala will be the cost for the four winners of a draw by Vailima Samoa Breweries done today to select four lucky winners from the islands to travel to Hong Kong.

Two from Savai'i and two from Upolu will have the luxury of staying in a five-star hotel in Hong Kong while they are there as well as first class seats in the grand stand during the sevens competition.

The winners from Savai'i are Iosefo Pilimai and Numia Grey and Upolu winners are Faafetai Sausoo and Michael Maifalefa.

"We thank the country for supporting our company, the aim is to give back to you and for your support," said Vailima representative Tyrone Lam.

"Let’s support our team’s travel to Hong Kong, and let the boys know there will be four additional local supporters there to witness their efforts while they’re there," he added.

Vailima has been a core supporter of rugby in Samoa, with their involvement in Sevens competitions such as the Marist sevens, Manu Samoa national teams and as well as the Rugby Academy Samoa initiative by former Manu Samoa Captain Nahonri Shwalger.

This is just one of the many more efforts by Vailima in their continuing push to promote rugby inclusion in Samoa.
