Cabinet has approved financial assistance of $10,000.00 for the Samoa International Cricket Association.
The fund will help the association prepare for the upcoming Women’s Cricket Tri-Nations World Cup Qualifier tournament in Apia on 13 – 23 July 2016. The winning team from this tournament will represent the Asia and Oceania region at the World Cup Tournament in 2018.
Teams from Australia, Japan and Papua New Guinea are expected to compete in this month’s tournament.
The tournament will also help develop the sport in Samoa.
