The OnePlus 2 is here

After much teasing, OnePlus has unveiled its much-anticipated follow-up handset to the masses.

As well as offering a glimpse of the device in the flesh, the company also divulged some impressive specs and the all-important pricing.

The OnePlus 2 retains the same 5.5-inch screen as its predecessor - along with the 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras on the back and front respectively.

But inside, the smartphone packs some mighty extras, such as a Snapdragon 810 processor, a 3,300mAh battery, dual-SIM support, a fingerprint scanner, and its own Oxygen version of Android.

While the cameras pixel count remains the same, it has also received some upgrades in the form of autofocus, Optical Image Stabilization, and an f/2.0 aperture.

There are two versions of the handset - a 16GB variant with 3GB of RAM costing £239 ($329) and another with 64GB storage and 4GB of RAM at $389 (£289).

Of course, it's all well and good if you can afford it but getting hold of one will still be a challenge with the company's invitation list process in place to manage supply.

The device will roll out across the US, UK, the rest of Europe and India from August 11. Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore will follow later this year.
