PNG artists listed in top 5 in Pacific

Three songs from Papua New Guinean have locked in on spots two, three and four on the Pacific’s Top 20 hits chart, kicking off the month of October.

Following Vanuatu’s ‘Window 8’ by Tyron Mann featuring Nawarake sitting on number one, ‘Island Moon’ by Justin Wellington featuring Jahboy has successfully secured number two.

Closely behind is ‘Peps Ambe’ by Chronicz featuring El kange on number three and ‘Lewa Aigir’ by Fi-quent crew on number four. ‘Anita’ by Souljah boy of Solomon Island closes the first five hits, according to PT20.

PT20, the first countdown ever dedicated to Pacific Hits is updated at the beginning of each month.

The chart brings songs from Polynesia, Melanesia and Micronesia, allowing people to vote for the songs they like to determine the list.

PT20’s goal is to promote artists from the islands the opportunity to have their music heard beyond their own shores. Thus, it gives priority to songs that have an island reggae (or reggae) sound, an island theme, and/or is sung in a local language, over songs that are mainstream in style – Pop, urban, etc.
