Samoa's Rasmussen is ANZ Country Manager American Samoa

ANZ has announced Joanne Rasmussen as Country Manager American Samoa, reporting to CEO American Territories, John Wade.

Rasmussen, originally from Samoa, will transition to Pago Pago to take up the role over the next month from her current role of Chief Operating Officer ANZ Samoa based in Apia. She replaces Sean Stratton who was acting in the role since November last year.

CEO for ANZ Samoa, Mathew Fisher, said he was thrilled to see a local Samoan being appointed to a senior Pacific leadership role.

He said: “Rasmussen has worked in Samoa for 11 years and has been on our talent programme and has worked in many different areas of the bank. ANZ Samoa is very proud of her achievements and she will be missed by our team.”

Fisher added: “ANZ is very focused on promoting our local talent and we now have a number of Pacific nationals working in senior leadership roles across the Pacific.”

Wade said he was pleased to have such a strong pool of talent in the Pacific from which ANZ could source a senior leader.

“Rasmussen brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience from previous senior roles at the bank, has demonstrated ability in leading highly engaged teams and I look forward to having her on board.”
