Allegations against former Samoa Govt official dropped

Allegations of wrongdoing against the former chief executive of the Samoa Ministry of Women's Affairs have been dismissed after an investigation by the Public Service Commission.

The commission chair Aiono Mose Sua told the Samoa Observer that Fuimapoao Beth Onesemo Tuilaepa has been cleared.

Allegations listed in the terms of reference for an inquiry had not been confirmed, Aiono said.

The investigation had been launched into the handling of human resource issues within the ministry.

Fuimapoao had earlier resigned from the Public Service Commission, but she said that had nothing to do with the investigation.

The Ministry had gone through a lot of changes during her tenure and those changes in direction had created tension that ultimately triggered the complaint, Fuimapoao said.
