Bail application denied for Samoa murder accused

The man accused of murdering his wife Sa'u Justina Sa'u, who was the chief executive of the Unit Trust of Samoa, has had his bail application denied by the Supreme Coiurt.

Chief Justice Patu Falefatu Sapolu said he was satisfied that there was a real and significant risk that Kolani Lam may interfere with police witnesses if he was granted bail.

Lam pleaded not guilty to three charges including the assault of his step daughter and possession of narcotics.

He is now in custody and will appear in court on 10 December.
