A fifth political party registers for 2021 Samoan elections

A fifth political party has registered for next April's general election in Samoa.

The party has been registered under the name 'Tumua ma Puleono' which carries the traditional honorifics of the two main islands of Upolu and Savaii.

The party secretary, John Peterson, and eight financial members met on Monday afternoon with the Electoral Commissioner, Faimalomatumua Mathew Lemisio, to officially endorse the registration.

The secretary said the party's supporters included Samoans residing overseas.
