A man is in custody pending court appearance in relation to the death of a 22 year old man in Savai’i.
The victim died after a fight with the 29 year old suspect at a pub in Savai’i last weekend.
“It was a typical night out, they had drinks and the deceased got into a scuffle with another they had been hanging out with. The fight eventually ended with the deceased being taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead,” said Police spokesperson Su’a Muliaga Tiumalu.
The cause of the man’s death has not been revealed.
“There was only a small scar on the top of his left eye, but we haven’t been able to find any serious injuries, which is why we cannot release any more info on the matter until the investigations and report from the Coroner has been released to police,” Su’a said.
