New vehicles, records and exhibit building for Samoa Police

The Samoa Police Service has been handed over a new Police records and exhibit building as well as four new vehicles to increase their capability.

The state of the art building will be used to store police exhibits while awaiting court cases as well as police records.

According to SPS, the building was funded by the Australian Government through the Samoa Australia Police Partnership (SAPP) at a cost of close to a million Samoan tala.

Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, who is also the Minister of Police delivered the keynote address on Friday and expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the people and the Government of Australia for the new building and the continuous assistance provided to the Samoa Police service through the SAPP arrangement.

Tuilaepa also highlighted the importance of the building in the day-to- day activities of the Police and especially in the handling of exhibits to avoid being lost and stolen before they are being presented to court as evidence.
