Samoa Airways CEO’s contract extended

Samoa’s Cabinet has agreed to extend the contract of Samoa Airways Chief Executive Officer, Tupuivao Seiuli Alvin Tuala by another three years.

Tuala as he is revered and known brings a wealth of experience to his current role, having been in aviation all of his working life.

An aviation lawyer by profession, his working experience includes serving as Assistant Attorney General for the Offices of the Attorney Generals in both Samoa and American Samoa.

Tuala’s primary duties and responsibilities; to provide sound legal advice on matters pertaining to Civil Aviation, Airports and International Shipping laws and regulations.

A graduate from the University of Otago with a (BA.Hons) Tuala is also an alumni with the University of Waikato (LLB), the University of New England in Australia. (AdvDipBusMgt- Distinction), ICAO, Montreal Canada and the Singapore Aviation Academy in various Aviation law and regulatory courses.

Prior to joining Polynesian Airlines, Tuala was employed as a national and regional Aviation regulator starting his career in Samoa with the Attorney General’s Office before joining the Ministry of Transport.

He was appointed as Samoa’s Director of Civil Aviation under the Ministry of Transport before the merger and what is now the Ministry of Works, Transport and Infrastructure, MWTI.
