Samoa police arrest man over double homicide

A 24-year-old man of Falefa is in the custody of Samoa Police in relation to the murder of two men at Leulumoega-uta last week.

The suspect was arrested on the evening of Friday, 23 November, hours after police discovered two badly slayed bodies in an open outdoor kitchen area.

Police said at 7:05am that morning, Criminal Investigation Division (CID) responded to a homicide case regarding two dead bodies located at Leulumoega-uta

The two deceased has been identified as a 69-year old man of Leulumoega uta/Lufilufi and New Zealand and his 42-year-old son in law of Savaia Lefaga and Leulumoega uta.

Evidence of alcohol was also found at the site with the bodies in badly slayed conditions.

Due to the horrific scene, a search was immediately executed to locate a third person who was believed to be at the site.

The suspect has since been charged with murder and he has been remanded in custody to await court mention scheduled for 10 December 2018.
