Samoa Police officers complete Police Defensive Driver Training

Nine Police officers have completed a defensive driver training course.

The two-week course was conducted by the two Samoa police officers from the Training Section who are qualified to deliver this training in Samoa.

The Commissioner of Police congratulated the officers for passing this extensive training and reminded the officers about the importance of this training when it comes to driving police vehicles.

This is costing the Ministry a lot of money due to vehicle accidents as well as the abuse of Police assets.

The officers who are now qualified will increase the numbers of Police drivers who can safely operate a Police vehicle apart from holding a drivers licence.

The programme was initiated by the Police Service to minimise costs to Police vehicles.

Sergeant Faataumalama Auvaa who was appointed by the class members to deliver the final speech has reassured the Commissioner and the Executive about the importance of their role when they return to their respective sections.
