Samoa Supreme Court orders Fepulea’i re-trial

The Supreme Court in Samoa has quashed a District Court decision to discharge without conviction the President of the Lands and Titles court.

Fepulea'i Attila Ropati pleaded guilty to one count of actual bodily harm with intent after he struck the head of a security guard with an empty bottle at a function last December

The victim required hospital treatment for the resulting injury.

The District Court decision was appealed by the prosecution to the Supreme Court which has yet to set a date for the re-trial.
