Samoan man sentenced to life for murder of colleague

A man in Samoa who confessed to murdering a work colleague in a drunken rage has been sentenced to life in prison.

Tualai Sili Lu'uga admitted killing Vaepa'a Seiuli at his house at Afulilo, on Upolu.

The Samoa Observer reported that a fight broke out between Mr Seiuli and his brother, and Lu'uga intervened.

Lu'uga told police he was punched multiple times by Mr Seiuli, who threatened to kill him with a machete.

When the machete was brandished, he said he ran to his house to get weapons before going to Mr Seuili's house to stab him multiple times.
