Another goals galore for NZ

New Zealand thrashed New Caledonia with 12 unanswered goals on the Match Day 3 of the OFC U-19 Women’s Championship at Ngahue Reserve in Auckland, New Zealand.

It was the second goals galore for New Zealand.

In their opening match against the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2016 hosts Papua New Guinea, New Zealand defeated them with the same goal margin.

The game was a one-sided affair with New Caledonia having little chances of breaking through New Zealand.

Although the game was an easy ride for them, they had to fight hard for 15 minutes before Samantha Tawharu opened the goals galore with a goal she sent past New Caledonia goal keeper Karine Xozame after a rapid New Zealand counter attack.

A minute later Nicole Mettam extended their lead when she neatly slotted the ball into the goal from a cross created by Deven Jackson.

They then kept watering the New Caledonia goal mouth with more goals from Jackson followed by Emma Main (3 goals), Deven Jackson (2 goals), Samantha (2 goals) and goal each from Dyna Stevens, Maechaela Foster and Grace Jale.

The defending champions after three matches are leading with nine points.
