Samoan woman wins muay thai world title

Samoan-Māori martial artist Genah Fabian has won the World Muay Thai Council's World Title, with a decisive second-round victory.

The fighter hails from the villages of Saleimoa, Lufilufi and Lefaga in Samoa and has forged a career as a kickboxer and mixed-martial artist and now boasts her first world title after last night's win at the Oakland Marriott City Centre arena. 

She defeated her opponent, former UFC fighter Charmaine Tweet, with a devastating knockout by head-kick in the second round.
