Digicel network name change

It is not a new network. The name change attempts to reinforce the Health Department’s messages about practicing basic hygiene and is part of the company’s efforts in helping PNG battle COVID-19.

Around 1.5 million handsets will notice this change while others may not as this depends on the type of handset.

The company hopes that when users look at their handsets, they will be reminded to wash their hands.

Digicel victorious at World Communications Awards

Digicel PNG announces lucky winners

The campaign was launched in the market last month and gives everyone a chance to win K1,000 and 200 product prizes daily.

The new store, located inside the Down Town Plaza, has available a range of mobile phones and mobile phone accessories, Digicel TV Play boxes, top up and much more.

Digicel PNG Senior Vice President & Chief Sales Officer, Lorna McPherson, said the new-look shop is all about customer experience.

New TV plans for Digicel

Customers should expect a 60-channel bundle on the Digicel TV terrestrial service in and around Port Moresby, and 60 & 80 channel bundles plus two special add-on packs on the Digicel TV Satellite service which covers the whole of Papua New Guinea. 

The new channel line-up includes FOX, HBO, Cartoon Network, Fox Sports, MTV, Discovery as well as Digicel TV’s exclusive coverage of the Hunters, NRL, English Premier League soccer, Super Rugby and more.

Digicel PNG acknowledges women

A small part significant event was held within Digicel PNG’s head office in Port Moresby on March 8 to acknowledge the efforts of its female employees on International Women’s Day.

Amongst those present was CEO Valde Ferradaz, who acknowledged that women play an important role in influencing and shaping society.

“Male ego is dangerous for the planet, making men self-centred.

“The empowering of women is a necessity for balance,” explained Valde Ferradaz.

Huawei Technologies, in collaboration with Digicel PNG, officially launched the latest entry to the ‘P’ series during a breakfast event.

The P10 smartphone is the latest Huawei ‘P’ series model to hit the market, boasting technological improvements rivaling that of other brands.

What gives the P10 an edge over its rival brands is its camera which has been co-engineered with Leica, a German company that manufactures optics and high end cameras.

Digicel's first Valentine’s promotion winner!

The 56-year-old won K1,000 from Digicel by simply buying a data plan through short code *777#.

The promotion began on February 1, and will see K14,000 in prize money given away to 14 lucky winners until Tuesday, February 14.

Parker said he was shocked when he received the call from Digicel notifying him of his win.
