Digicel Samoa named the official sponsor of the 2019 Pacific Games

The announcement was made by the Games Organising Committee Chairman, Minister Loau Solamalemalo Keneti Sio with Farid Mohammed Chief Executive Officer of Digicel Samoa.

“We are honoured to have Digicel Samoa on board as the official sponsor for next year’s games.”

“Digicel’s sponsorship will provide significant support in our efforts to host a remarkable and memorable Pacific Games event.”

The official sponsorship package is valued at $3 Million Tala.

The New Zealand based former World Heavyweight title holder first became a Digicel brand ambassador in 2016 and today he has renewed his deal.

Parker, during the signing said he was excited to extend the partnership with Digicel and he’s looking forward to another year of boxing.

A Happy Easter trolley dash for 3 lucky Digicel customers

The main prize of 60 seconds trolley dash was won by Ievali Pomare of Samatau, the 45 seconds dash went to Darren Ah Hao of Solosolo and the 30 seconds dash to Stephen Posi of Tufulele.

NBS and Digicel partner to offer remittance linked savings product

Digicel will work with NBS to integrate its Mobile Money platform with NBS’ banking systems. This will allow beneficiaries to transfer their money received from family and friends from their Digicel Mobile Money wallet into their NBS bank account.

Digicel launches massive Supa Seki data plans

The new data plans will see prepaid customers get up to more than five times data value for their money when compared to the old data plans.

Being the first Telco Company to switch to the Tui Samoa Cable the new Supa Seki data plans is a small taste of what’s ahead for all Digicel customers.

Digicel first to sign up with Tui Samoa Cable

This announcement follows the announcement made earlier this month about it investing WST $25-million in upgrading its network.

The official contract signing ceremony took place at the Samoa Submarine Cable Company landing station today and was presided by Digicel Samoa CEO, Mr. Farid Mohammed and SSCC Board Chairman, Leiataua Alden Godinet.

This was announced at the press conference at Digicel office attended by Minister of Communication and Information Technology – Afamasaga Rico Tupai and the Digicel management team including Oliver Coughlan, CEO, Digicel Pacific Ltd and Regional Hub CEO Colin Stone.

Afamasaga Rico Tupai praised Digicel for its commitment to the Government and said "This technological advancement, combined with the Tui-Samoa cable is great for the people of Samoa giving faster data speeds and increased reliability.”

Digicel rewards Top Resellers

The winners were presented with their cash prizes at the Digicel Main Office in Apia by Chief Customer Officer, Deepak Khanna in which he also acknowledged the ongoing partnership between Digicel and all its local resellers through its distributor Oceania Communications Limited.

The campaign, which started in September last year, targeted all of Digicel’s resellers selling phone to phone top ups to the general public.

The initiative was prompted as an opportunity to reward Digicel resellers for their contribution and continuous support of the business.
