Justin Bieber reveals facial paralysis after shows cancelled

The 28-year-old said in an Instagram video that the condition is due to a diagnosis of Ramsay Hunt syndrome.

"As you can see this eye is not blinking. I can't smile on this side of my face ... so there's full paralysis on this side of my face," he said.

Ramsay Hunt syndrome is when a shingles outbreak affects the facial nerve near someone's ears, say medical experts.

Earlier this week, Bieber's Justice World Tour - which began in February - announced three shows would be postponed.

He had gone there to pick up documents for the couple's wedding. The journalist's body was dismembered as Ms Cengiz waited outside.

In 2019, Bieber infamously challenged Cruise to a brawl on Twitter, even tagging in UFC boss Dana White asking him to arrange it.

"I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you don't take this fight you're scared and you will never live it down," he stated.

A spokesperson for Justin Bieber told Newsbeat they wouldn't comment and had nothing to add to the singer's tweets.

Over the weekend, Riverdale actors also denied accusations of a sexual offence made by other anonymous accounts.

Speaking in the latest episode of his YouTube series, the singer admitted he became addicted to taking pills and smoking cannabis when he was 13.

"People don't know how serious it got," he said in the episode The Dark Season.

Last year, the 25-year-old Canadian took a break from music to repair "some of the deep-rooted issues", but announced before Christmas he will return in 2020 with a new album and US tour.

Following his release from custody on Tuesday (local time), he uploaded a video of a dance rehearsal captioned: "We Working," prompting Bieber to chime in with a message of encouragement.

"No one can touch you, ur [sic] the GOAT [Greatest Of All Time]," he commented.

Bieber fans help YouTube Rewind become 'most disliked'

It has almost 10.1 million "dislikes", with more than 82% of its viewers saying they did not enjoy it.

With almost 9.9 million "dislikes", the video for Justin Bieber's 2010 song Baby had filled the bottom slot for several years.

And fans' comments below Baby reveal many "disliked" Rewind in a deliberate effort to bump Bieber off the bottom.

"Justin must be feeling so relieved now," posted one YouTube member, whose comment rapidly attracted more than 1,000 likes itself.
