Samoan church minister admits rape

The victim was living with the defendant and his wife and attended a church college in Apia where the first offence took place.

The police said other offences took place in a village on Savaii Island where the defendant and his wife had been serving.

The victim became pregnant and gave birth to two children as a result.

The defendant has been stripped of all his church positions and duties.

The victim, the eighth of the man's children, was only 17 years old when the abuse began.

Facebook blackmailer jailed for rapes

Paul Leighton, 32, from Seaham, County Durham, created up to 40 fake Facebook profiles to befriend teenagers in the UK, Canada, the US and Australia.

He tricked them into sending him naked selfies, then blackmailed them into abusing young relatives.

He had earlier admitted a total of 21 offences at Newcastle Crown Court.

The court heard one 14-year-old from Florida was tricked into believing he was talking to a girl, then blackmailed into repeatedly raping his one-year-old niece.

The warning came as a 53 year old man was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for raping a relative.

The victim was 12 years old when the offense was committed in the accused’s home in 2015.

The accused, who has six children, was found guilty and sentenced by Justice Tafaoimalo Leilani Tuala-Warren this week.

The court heard the victim was raped twice in the home.

The accused was described as caring and humble, supportive of his family and active in their village matters.

Australian man charged for assaulting, raping backpacker over 2 months

The 22-year-old woman was rescued on Sunday when the vehicle she was driving was pulled over in a routine traffic stop in rural Mitchell, approximately 350 miles west of state capital Brisbane, police said.

She was "visibly distressed" and had scratches and bruises on her neck and face, police added.
