UN body to meet in Samoa over child rights

The Pacific was chosen for the session because the region had pressing issues affecting children's rights, including the climate crisis and access to health care and education, according to committee chair Luis Ernesto Pedernera Reynasession.

The committee said it would allow members to hear directly from governments, charities and others including children themselves.

The meetings are due to take place on 2-6 March.
