US Peace Corps Volunteers

91st group of Peace Corps volunteers arrive in Samoa

The new volunteers were welcomed at an Ava Ceremony at the Ministry of Education Sports and Culture Samoa fale by the Peace Corps Country Director Gini Wilderson, the CEO of MESC Dr. Karoline Afamasaga-Fuatai and the U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Tony Greubel.

The group will work under a partnership with the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Culture to promote teaching and learning capacities in English Literacy.

Samoa welcomes Peace Corps volunteers

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Education Sports and Culture, Professor Dr. Karoline Fuata'i acknowledged the Peace Corps Samoa Country Director Gini Wilderson and her team for continual support in Samoa's education system through the Peace Corps Volunteers.

CDA Tony Greubel also welcomed the group and encouraged the group to form relationships with Samoan families as how their predecessors have done so over the years.

The new group will undergo a nine week training before their official swearing in and placement in various villages throughout Samoa.
