Parris Goebel set to release autobiography

Award-winning dancer and choreographer Parris Goebel is set to release an autobiography next year.

The South Auckland star, who is of Samoan descent, has been successfully leading the way in New Zealand's hip-hop industry, working with artists such as Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande.

Goebel says she's finished the book and is looking to release it in March 2018.

"I've been writing it this whole year, secretly, which has been quite painful cos I've wanted to say something about it for so long," she says. "Just been writing about my life, challenges and lessons that I've learnt and really cool stories that people would not know of."

PRN reports the 25-year-old is hoping to inspire people to chase their dreams, no matter how wild they are.

"I'm just like everyone else, if anything I had less opportunities growing up and I've managed to succeed in what I wanted to do," she says. "By doing what I do, hopefully it encourages the young Polynesian people that it's possible if you work hard."

Goebel is currently preparing for a world tour next month, taking The Royal Family dance crew with her to 13 countries.

"We did a Europe tour a couple of months ago and it was so successful," she says. "Because so many countries missed out I thought why not go on a world tour... some countries we've had to add a second show which is really good."

Goebel says rehearsals have been physically tough but they're looking forward to it.

"Every day is still a challenge and I'm still breaking my back. I'm still waking up more sore now that I'm older," she says.

When asked if there are any future projects underway, Goebel couldn't say.

"I actually have a really big secret but I can't share!"

She says it'll all be revealed next year.
