Samoan professional attains key position in new Skycity Hotels Group Management

SkyCity Entertainment Group recently announced the establishment of a new hotel management company, SkyCity Hotels Group.

Set up to deliver on SkyCity’s hotel growth strategy and manage on-going projects including the Horizon Hotel in Auckland and the Adelaide Casino

Hotel, the group will be lead by Brad Burnett as Group General Manager of Hotels, with the support of Colin McClean, General Manager of New Zealand Hotel Operations.

“The new centralised SkyCity Hotels Group function will allow us to not only synergise operations across our sites, but also encourage a group focus to ensure

that we continue to expand and provide experiences and entertainment that excite and inspire our guests each and every time they come to stay,” said

Burnett.

“SkyCity is truly committed to its hotel growth strategy and we look forward to sharing more developments and exciting changes in the coming months,” he added.

Glenn Hallam will serve as Director of Development and Integration and Caroline Ah Chong-Douglas will be the Director of Sales and Marketing.

At the property level, Heather Firth is the Operations Manager for the SkyCity Grand Hotel, Wendy Li has stepped into the role of Operations Manager at the

SkyCity Hotel, and Jodi Brown is the new Adelaide Hotel Manager.

Caroline Ah Chong-Douglas is an experienced professional who has held numerous management positions across gaming, food and beverage, hotels, sponsorship events and entertainment during her time at SkyCity over the last 10 years.

Earlier this year, Caroline received the prestigious SkyCity Leadership award which is an outstanding achievement, adding great value to the Hotels Group team.  Caroline is extremely passionate about the hotels, tourism and entertainment industry which will be vital in her new role as Director of Sales and Marketing.

Caroline was born, raised and educated in Samoa and New Zealand.  She holds a Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) degree from the UNITEC Institute of Technology, Auckland.

Caroline is proud to be Samoan and portrays her cultural heritage in her professional and family life.  She married Brendan Douglas of Auckland, NZ in 2009 at Sina Lei Reef Resort, Samoa and they have 2 children, Noah Joseph and Sinalei Carol-Marie. 

She is the 2nd eldest daughter of Gaono Joseph Randy Ah Chong and Papalii Tiumalu Caroline Paul-Ah Chong.
