Papua New Guinea PM Marape to announce full cabinet Tuesday

He said this is a message to all Government MPs as he prepares to announce his full Cabinet on Tuesday (23 August) and as a week-long Parliament induction for new MPs starts Monday (22 August).

PM Marape stressed that an ordinary MP could transform PNG for the better if he or she put “200 per cent” effort into their job.

“We are now almost 47 years old as a nation and we will be 50 soon, yet, our country is in a diabolical state,” was his message to Government MPs.

“We all have to work very hard to fix it. 

Samoa Cabinet wears pink in support of Pinktober

Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa and Cabinet Ministers were dressed in pink at their meeting on Wednesday.

Cabinet will wear pink attire every Wednesday throughout the Pinktober month of October.

Pinktober is invaluable for education and advocacy and driven by Government, the Samoa Cancer Society and stakeholders to encourage the public to take preventative health measures and use assistance rendered by the Society and the Ministry of Health.

Samoa PM, Cabinet briefed on measles epidemic

The DAC briefed Cabinet about the response to the measles epidemic at a special meeting Monday afternoon.

While the mortality rate continues to climb since the Epidemic was declared, 471 patients admitted have been discharged from the Main and District Hospitals.

A total of 679 patients were admitted since the outbreak.

The meeting heard that the vaccination programme is also picking up speed with over 32-thousand receiving their injections prior to the Mass Vaccination Campaign which started last week Wednesday.

Samoa prime minister reshuffles cabinet

The cabinet reshuffle by the Prime Minister, Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi, was announced in a cabinet meeting yesterday and will be effective on Monday next week.

There is little explanation from the government on the reasons for the reshuffle.

But the CEO of the Ministry of the Prime Minister and Cabinet said Tuila'epa considered the importance of maintaining a balance of cabinet ministers' duties and responsibilities to ensure that they are not overloaded.
