Samoa sees 128 new Covid community cases

There are ten patients currently in managed isolation and none at the Intensive Care Unit at Moto'otua Hospital.

The cumulative confirmed number of positive cases is 13,924.

The ministry is urging the public to continue to take heed of public health advice such as wearing facial masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands to maintain good personal hygiene.

These practices will help contain the spread of the virus and prevent new infections.

The ministry said Covid-19 vaccinations continue at all hospitals.

Northern Marianas schools closed due to new Covid cases

The Public School System says two of the new cases relate to the Chacha Oceanview Middle School and Francisco M. Sablan Middle School.

The Commonwealth Healthcare Corp has yet to state where the third case was identified.

Effective from today, Governor Ralph Torres has directed the temporary closure of all public and private schools and colleges to mitigate against community spread.

As contact tracing in relation to the cases swung into action, Mr Torres has reassured the public that the CNMI would be able to contain the outbreak.

102 Covid-19 community cases in NZ today

The Ministry of Health said 94 of the cases were in Auckland and eight in Waikato. Thirty of the cases are household contacts.

Forty of the new cases remain unlinked and there are 199 unlinked cases in the past 14 days.

There were 60 new community cases yesterday.

All of the Waikato cases were in the Te Awamutu area, the ministry said. Seven had already been linked to known cases.

One of the Waikato cases travelled to Hawke's Bay last Friday, but returned to Te Awamutu before testing positive.

12 new community cases in Auckland - Health Ministry

In a statement the Health Ministry said there are now a total of 1177 community cases associated with the latest outbreak of the Delta variant of the virus.

All of the latest cases were identified in Auckland.

The ministry said one of today's community cases had previously been under investigation and is now confirmed and linked to the current outbreak. "The case has now recovered. The case spent 14 days in a quarantine facility along with household members who also tested positive for Covid-19."

Victoria records 29 new local COVID-19 cases

The new cases, which are all linked to previous cases in the outbreak, were detected from among 43,618 test results processed on Friday.

It is the highest single-day increase in local cases this year, ahead of 27 cases detected on 21July.

The number of exposure sites linked to the outbreak continues to grow, with supermarkets and a GP clinic among the latest locations added in Melbourne's west.

NSW records 35 new community cases

Twenty-four of those were in isolation for their infectious period.

Seven were in the community while infectious.

Berejiklian said she was pleased that the majority of today's cases had been in isolation, but household contacts remained a concern.

"I can say that the lockdown certainly has been effective in not doubling and tripling the figures that we were worried about," she said.

"Thirty-three cases are linked to a known case or cluster and 20 of these are household contacts. Again, highlighting the risk within households."
