Samoan Kiwi dancer Lance Savali overcomes pressure to nail Super Bowl Halftime routine

Catch a tossed microphone from metres away….these are all requirements that would send shivers down the spine of most performers.

But Samoan Wellingtonian dancer Lance Savali says a sense of calm swept over him ahead of performing on one of the world's most-watched stages.

"You hear the crowd roar and you are instantly filled with energy, no matter how exhausted your body is," he told Newshub.

"I found myself thinking; 'This is weird, I'm so chill, yet I'm about to perform in front of my biggest crowd so far'."

Parris Goebel set to release autobiography

The South Auckland star, who is of Samoan descent, has been successfully leading the way in New Zealand's hip-hop industry, working with artists such as Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande.

Goebel says she's finished the book and is looking to release it in March 2018.

"I've been writing it this whole year, secretly, which has been quite painful cos I've wanted to say something about it for so long," she says. "Just been writing about my life, challenges and lessons that I've learnt and really cool stories that people would not know of."
