Digicel Samoa Ltd has officially opened the ‘Tevi’s Learning Centre’ at Samoa Primary School at Vailele Uta, in honor and memory of the Late Laeimau Oketevi Tanuvasa Savea.

The former Chief Executive Officer of Computer Services Limited and Board Director of Digicel Samoa Ltd, who played a significant role in advocating and lobbying for the establishment of Digicel in Samoa as well as developing Samoa’s ICT Sector.

Digicel Samoa honours the Late La’eimanu Oketevi

The project is to honour the Late La’eimau Oketevi Tanuvasa- Savea, who passed away in December 2018, the former Chief Executive Officer of Computer Services Limited and Board Director of Digicel Samoa Ltd, who played a significant role and was instrumental in advocating and lobbying for the establishment of Digicel in Samoa as well as developing Samoa’s ICT Sector.

Digicel pays out record $3.8 million tala dividend

Digicel Samoa network name change

The name change reinforces the government’s efforts in helping Samoa battle Covid-19 and also reminds customers to stay safe during these trying times.

All Digicel mobile phones in Samoa are programmed to show this change but there are some that may not depending on the type of phone.

Digicel appoints first local woman as new COO in Samoa

The 37-year-old is the first local woman appointed to this position.

Miss Fruean takes up this position with deep experience in the telecommunications industry and a reputation for driving innovation and growth throughout her career. She joined Digicel in 2015 as the Mobile Advertising Manager and took up the Marketing Manager’s role in 2016, which she has held till now.

Digicel Regional CEO, Shally Jannif congratulated Miss Fruean on her new appointment.

Digicel appoints new CEO in Samoa

Witthuhn is no stranger in Samoa as he has held the Head of Consumer Sales position for the past two years. He will be leading his team in delivering the best mobile and data experiences and best customer service as the company forges ahead on its journey to becoming a digital lifestyle partner for customers in Samoa.

He boasts 20 years’ experience in mobile telecommunications industry having previously also worked at Vodacom (South Africa), MTN (Swaziland) and as General Manager at Digicel Papua New Guinea.

Mark takes over from outgoing CEO Farid Mohammed.
