Samoa Police arrest 4 drug suspects

The men aged between 30 and 35 are known to have previous convictions.

Officers are also looking for a known drug dealer who frequents the location at Vaigaga where the raid took place on Wednesday morning last week.

Among the contrabands seized by law authorities include cash, methamphetamine, marijuana, utensils, weighing apparatus, ammunition and a truck load of items suspected to be stolen goods.

The items confiscated include seven packets of “ice” weighed at 2.36 grams with an estimated street value of $2,500.

Police confirmed arresting two individuals in connection with Thursday’s raid who are currently in custody awaiting remand.

Police also raided a property in the Faleata district where they confiscated illicit drugs weighing 19 grams. 

Police arrested eight people including one female and seized paraphernalia, guns and cash valued at more than $20,000 tala.

Guam prison officers arrested in police drug raid

The Guam Daily Post reported a Department of Corrections lieutenant and three corrections officers were amoung five government workers arrested in several raids this morning.

A Department of Public Works officer was also among those arrested and a fifth corrections officer was being held in custody while investigations continued.

The officials have been charged with offences including bribery, official misconduct and conspiracy to promote prison contraband.

Police raid uncovers marijuana plantation at Faleatiu

Five people including a young mother were arrested as a result of a crackdown by police last week.

The raid was conducted on the same plantation where Police Commissioner, Fuiavailili Egon Keil recently confiscated more than 600 fully grown marijuana plants in what is reported to be Samoa’s biggest drug bust.

The five suspects have been charged with possession of narcotics and will appear in court at a later date.
