Samoa police to undergo drug tests

She said the ministry is in talks with anti-doping specialists to develop a drug testing regime.

Papali'i said they want to identify those officers using drugs and expel them from the force.

The move follows an internal investigation into 20 officers for alleged illicit drug use.

Three officers were to face the Internal Police Tribunal but two have opted to resign and one is challenging the findings of the investigation.

The other 17 officers were cleared and are back working.

Tuipulotu cleared over doping

Tuipulotu had been been provisionally suspended after returning a positive drugs test last year and returned home early from the All Blacks' end of year tour.

A statement from New Zealand Rugby says they have now received the results of Tuipolotu's B sample, which showed no banned substance was present.

Tuipulotu's suspension has been lifted immediately and he was free to play for the Blues in the Super Rugby competition which starts later this month.

Tuipulotu said the process had been stressful and is relieved it was over.

Rio Olympics 2016: Bulgarian Silvia Danekova fails drugs test

The 33-year-old, a 3,000m steeplechase athlete, tested positive in a doping control conducted a few days after her arrival in Brazil on 26 July.

Danekova has been temporarily suspended pending the test of her B sample.

"Unfortunately, we have a positive test," confirmed the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, whose weightlifting team was banned from the Games for doping.

Danekova raced in the 3,000m steeplechase at the London Olympics in 2012 but did not get beyond the heats.
