Samoa Police charge church minister over fatal road accident

Deputy Police Commissioner Papalii Monalisa Tiai – Keti confirmed to Tala Fou that the 64-year-old drove a vehicle that allegedly veered off the road causing the death of an 18-year-old woman.

According to a police preliminary report, the vehicle was allegedly travelling at a high speed.

The report says, the deceased was one of three passengers in the vehicle involved in the accident at Tapatapao on Wednesday last week.

The driver and the passengers were rushed to the hospital,

The deceased had severe head and body injuries.

Woman charged after child dies in road accident

The 43-year -old woman, who is charged with negligent driving causing death, appeared before Justice Fepuleai Ameperosa Roma.

The charge relates to a case where a child was died after being allegedly hit by a car last month.

Tala Fou reports the Prosecution asked the court for a two weeks adjournment to finalise charges against the defendant Anita Sesilia Iona Mateo.

According to Police they were informed of the tragic incident by the hospital where the child was treated and later died of severe head injuries.

3 killed in crash involving Samoa Police vehicle

A fourth passenger on the truck remains in a critical condition.

Police said the POL.81 dyna truck crashed at Tiavi.

“We ask the public for your understanding whilst we are dealing with this tragic incident.”

“SPPCS will provide information in due time to answer any queries regarding this matter,” Police said in a statement.

The truck was reportedly delivering materials to a police post when the accident occurred.

Samoa weekend road accident claims a life

Police Commissioner, Fuiavailiili Egon Keil told Samoa Global News, the Police responded to a call at around 10pm.

There were no other passengers involved, only the driver.

The car reportedly crashed into a rock wall on the side of the road.

Fire and Emergency Services Authority (F.E.S.A) Commissioner, Tanuvasa Pitone reported, the responders had to remove the driver out of the car.

The driver had suffered critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital, however he was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.


Toddler killed in fatal crash, family planned to travel to Samoa for Christmas

The toddler who died in a fatal crash in Sydney’s west on Tuesday has been identified as Anelina Nauer.

Anelina was in a van with her mother Kristen, who suffered broken legs and spinal injuries, when their van was involved in a head on crash on Mamre Road, Kemps Creek, in Sydney's west.

7 news reports the toddler underwent emergency surgery but couldn’t be saved.

A relative, Marilyn Nauer, described the toddler as “adorable” and “funny”, and meant “everything to her dad”.

Anelina’s brothers remain at Westmead Children’s Hospital.
