Frozen 2 rakes in $350 million worldwide on box office debut

The sequel made about £15m in the UK and Ireland and $127m (£98.9m) in the US and Canada, which are not counted towards the worldwide figures.

The 2013 original took $93m (£72.28m) during its first five days in theatres, according to Reuters.

It ended up making a whopping $1.27bn in total.

Disney say the sequel has set a new record for the biggest opening weekend for an animation.

That's owing to the fact they consider this year's remake of The Lion King, which made $269m on its opening weekend, to be a live action film.

Yes, this is a real house completely encased in ice

This igloo -- er, house -- is in Webster, New York, just outside of Rochester. The area is one of the snowiest in the country, thanks to freezing winter temperatures and the moisture of the nearby Great Lakes. In the case of this prank of nature, high winds joined in the party and coated the house in layer after layer of ice.

Photographer John Kucko captured the scene, and says the area has had some particularly nasty weather lately.

Frozen musical is heading to Broadway theatres

The studio also confirmed that three of the film's stars - Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Idina Menzel - will lend their voices to a Christmas television special planned for 2016.

The film's animated sequel, Frozen 2, is still in production.
