James Corden's Homefest: Star speaks of 'anxiety and sadness' over coronavirus

"I've found it tougher than I ever thought I would," he said during a special edition of his Late Late Show.

"You feel so out of control," he said. "It feels so beyond our comprehension, all of it, that I've found I get sort of overwhelmed with sadness in it all."

He broadcast live from his garage in LA and was joined via live stream by stars like Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa and BTS.

The host, who is doing three consecutive shows from London this week, opened the show on the rainy streets of London with a message of defiance and unity.

"Some people might say it's a strange time to do a variety show from this city," he added. "I couldn't disagree more."

Corden said the staff of the CBS late night show were out in London on Saturday night and were staying in a hotel not far from the location of the attack.

The British comedian is about to celebrate his second anniversary as host of CBS's The Late Late Show.

During that time he's turned Carpool Karaoke into a global success and has hosted a string of big award shows including the Grammys.

Speaking about his plans for 2017, he told to Radio Times: "We do have some stuff planned this year - which might involve being in the UK.

When he was asked if that means a UK based version of the show, James said: "We're talking about it now, really.

Harris and Corden took the stage for an intense sing-off to see who knew the most show tunes. From "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat," from "Guys and Dolls," to "On My Own," from "Les Miserables," the stars belted out hits from the Great White Way.

It was unclear who came out on top as both men stood their Broadway ground.

James Corden to 'take a spin' with Michelle Obama in 'Carpool Karaoke'

Michelle Obama debuted on Snapchat on Tuesday along with "The Late Late Show" host, who announced that he would doing a "Carpool Karaoke" with the First Lady.

Corden popped up in one of Obama's snaps saying, "Hi, I'm at the White House today and I'm going to take a spin in a car and sing some songs with..."

The camera then panned over to the First Lady saying, "Me!" before Corden started excitingly screaming.
