Samoa Digital Library launched

The Minister of Education Sports and Culture, Seuula Ioane launched the Samoa Digital Library (SADIL) at the National University of Samoa on Monday.

The project is jointly funded by the UN agencies under the Indian UN development partnership fund and is one of the components of the Samoa Knowledge Society Initiative project.

The aim of the SADIL is to provide reliable and accurate information for the public for research, students work and for making inform decision, and inform the world in daily lives.

ANZ launches first Pacific-wide mobile banking app

ANZ Regional Executive for Pacific, Tessa Price, said: “As smartphone usage increases across the region, more of our customers are embracing digital banking.

“We are pleased to be the first major bank in the Pacific to introduce a mobile banking app for customers, so they can manage their money on the go.

“Providing our customers with a secure mobile banking app that gives them access to their money, no matter where they are, is part of our commitment to make banking easier and more convenient.”

Nations unite for Rugby League World Cup 2017 launch

Tournament CEO Andrew Hill, chairman Dr George Peponis, OAM, and Queensland Minister for Education and Minister for Tourism, Major Events and the Commonwealth Games, Kate Jones, were on hand to launch the 28-game series that culminates with the final in Brisbane on Saturday, December 2.

The Trust will focus on assisting offenders and members of the community not only in court cases but also in counselling, immigration matters and providing legal advice.

The ceremony was led with a prayer service by Reverend Semisi Lafi Esera of the Voice of Christ Church.

Tuilaepa in his address applauded the initiative by the Trust to provide rehabilitation programmes for offenders, especially the youth.
