Rugby 7s releases draw for Samoa 2019 XVI Pacific Games

Twelve countries will compete in Rugby 7s over the two-day (12-13 July) tournament at Apia Park Stadium. The tournament kicks off at 1000hrs on 12 July with Fiji v Solomon Islands in the women’s competition.

¬¬¬Seeding for the draw was decided on rankings from the 2018/2019 HSBC Sevens Series; rankings from Oceania Sevens Championships; and the 2017 Pacific Mini Games.

Men's and Women's pools announced for Las Vegas

The draw for the next stop on the series was made at the end of the HSBC Sydney Sevens, which was won by South Africa. 

The Blitzboks are drawn in Pool A with Wales, France and Canada. 

Beaten finalists in Sydney, England, top Pool B with USA, Samoa and as yet un-named invitational side.

New Zealand, Argentina, Russia and Kenya will battle in out in Pool C and Australia meet Fiji, Japan and Scotland in Pool D from 3-5 March at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Nevada. 

Pools drawn for HSBC Canada Sevens

The pools for the HSBC Canada Sevens were drawn ahead of the Cup final at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, with Cup winners Fiji heading Pool A in Vancouver thanks to a 21-15 win over Australia.

Ben Ryan's series leading FIji will face Kenya, Samoa and Portugal in Pool A while Australia, runners-up for a second successive tournament, meet Wales, Russia and hosts Canada in Pool B.
