Fatal car crash involving over 200 vehicles in China

State media reports the crash was caused by heavy fog in the area.

He said the victim was suspected to be intoxicated and allegedly slept on the main road.

The Commissioner also confirmed the driver turned herself in to the police after the incident.

     

Berlin: One dead and others hurt as car drives into pedestrians

Police say the driver, a 29-year-old man, was detained by passers-by and arrested at the scene.

Emergency officials said it was unclear whether the incident, which happened shortly before 10:30 local time (08:30 GMT), was intentional or an accident.

Two hospitalised after head-on collision at Tuaefu in Samoa

The accident occurred Monday afternoon.

The driver and a passenger of the truck were taken to hospital by ambulance while three passengers sitting at the back of the truck received minor injuries.

Samoa Police confirm that the driver of the 4-wheel drive who escaped injuries has been charged.

Drink driving is reported to be a factor in the accident which happened 100 meters away from a dangerously steep end of the valley.

Woman dies in fatal road accident

Aiganalupe Poai Tavita was in a vehicle that was being driven by her husband.

According to Police, the vehicle veered off the road and fell into a steep end of the Maliolio river in Patamea.

Police Commissioner Su’a Fuiavailiili Egon Keil said the incident happened at about 7pm on Monday.

He added that there is no evidence of alcohol and no other vehicle was on the road at the time of the incident.

Tavita is being remembered as a humble and gracious mother, who loved to work the land.

She was also employed at the Le Lagoto Resort and Spa.

Venus Williams being sued after road accident

A civil complaint filed today, days before the revered Wimbledon tournament, claims that Williams was negligent in the June 9th crash near her Florida residence in Palm Beach Gardens.

A passenger in a small sedan that collided with Williams' larger SUV, Jerome Barson, 78, died June 22, according to the suit and, separately, the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner's office.

School bus crash kills 36 in Tanzania

The fatal crash happened in city of Arusha in Tanzania's northern Karatu District, on the edge of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

"The place where it happened is a hill, with a steep slope, and it was raining when the accident happened," Aruba Police Commander Charles Mkumbo said.

Mkumbo added investigators were still trying to determine exactly what caused the bus to leave the road. "We don't know if the driver was new or if there was a mechanical defect," he said.

Caitlyn Jenner should face vehicular manslaughter charge

The incident on California's Pacific Coast Highway left eight people injured, and resulted in the death of one woman.

Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Nicole Nishida said investigators have concluded that Jenner's driving was "unsafe for the prevailing road conditions" (via The AP).

The department also presented an account of what happened, saying that Jenner, driving a Cadillac Escalade and hauling an off-road vehicle behind, tried to avoid cars slowing down for a traffic light.
