A three-year pilot project between the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture, (M.E.S.C.) and the Manukau Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) has been implemented exclusive for them.
The project will develop and introduce a new qualification, Certificate in Technical Skills into secondary schools.
The initiative titled, MIT Pacific Islands Secondary Tertiary Development Project, aims to encourage unresponsive students to stay in the school system longer and further their education through vocational pathways.
