Warriors: One half won't define our season

Leading 28-6 at the break, the Kiwi side gave up five tries in the second 40 minutes to lose 36-28 at Pepper Stadium, and now sit four spots outside of the top eight heading into Round 11.

But while acknowledging the disappointing nature of the performance, coach Stephen Kearney said he was focussed on moving on quickly ahead of hosting the St George Illawarra Dragons at FMG Stadium Waikato in Hamilton on Friday night.

"I'm not going to let 33 minutes [take away from] the work we have done the last six or seven games," Kearney said.

Tuimoala Lolohea opens up on why he wants out at Warriors

The 22-year-old has been told by the club that they'll allow him to leave before his current contract runs out.

Wests Tigers are one of three clubs interested in picking him up, possibly as early as this season.

Lolohea is in Sydney this week, preparing for Tonga's test against Fiji on Saturday and told Australian media that a change of environment could be good for him.

"I've been in my comfort zone and maybe I need to get out of my comfort zone and get away from the things I am comfortable with," Lolohea told Fox Sports.

Shaun Johnson re-signs with Warriors

Johnson, 26, has re-signed with the team trough to the end of the 2019 NRL season.

He said he was thrilled to settle his future with the club in what he regards as the most important contract of his career so far.

"This was a big contract for a lot of reasons and I'm excited to be able to lock it away and know I'll be here for another two years.

"My belief in this club is massive and my belief that we can do something special here is bigger than ever with everything we have in place," Johnson said.

Foran's Bulldogs deal one step closer

With Reynolds' NRL future uncertain after the Bulldogs were linked with Foran, a deal worth a reported $3.2 million was too much to resist for the fiery No.6.

The Dogs had in the past few weeks been deep in negotiations with the former NSW playmaker but admitted they were unable to match the money on offer from the Tigers, who have entered the market aggressively after the loss of Mitchell Moses, Aaron Woods and James Tedesco.

The NRL's player musical chairs is now in full swing with Foran expected to soon join Woods at the Dogs under respected coach Des Hasler.

Foran key target for Storm

The Warriors No.6 played his first game for his new NRL club in round five and Bellamy said he had improved their attack.

In his three games this month the New Zealand-based side have won two and lost one, falling to the highly-rated Raiders in Canberra last round.

"Foran makes a lot of difference," Bellamy said ahead of the Tuesday night match at AAMI Park.

"He's a really experienced player and he's a real competitor and he really straightens up their attack a lot.

Warriors not giving up on Foran

Reports in Australia say Foran will move back to Australia next year and is set to sign a three year deal with the Canterbury Bulldogs.

Foran was signed by the Warriors for this season after leaving Parramatta due to personal issues.

But Warriors chief executive Jim Doyle said his Bulldogs counterpart Raelene Castle texted him late on to deny reports the club had reached an agreement with Foran.

Matulino named on Warriors bench

The senior prop has missed the early stages of the season following knee surgery.

The Warriors head to Melbourne with a three win and four loss record after the seventh round 20-8 loss to the Raiders at the weekend.

Warriors coach Stephen Kearny says Matulino has been making good progress since returning to full training and should be ready to play soon.

Matulino's inclusion on the bench is the only change from the 21-man squad initially named for last Saturday's clash against Canberra.

Warriors prop opens up on attempts to take own life, mental health battles

The 28-year old has worked his way back into Stephen Kearney's side, having missed selection for the first two rounds of the 2017 NRL competition.

However, Gavet is now a regular for the Warriors, but hasn't forgotten about the bad times as he enjoys the good.

"Those memories will never, ever, leave me or any of the people that were there," Gavet told 1 NEWS.

His battle with alcohol and depression saw him provided with professional help by his club, with the blockbusting prop coming through the other side.

Warriors stick with winning side

The side nabbed their second NRL win in a row at the weekend beating Parramatta 22-10 in Auckland - the win lifted the Warriors to 3-3 for the season

Coach Stephen Kearney said this week's match up will mark Blake Ayshford's 150th career appearance.

"When you look at the rest of our outside backs he's not the same sort of athlete. Ken Maumalo and David Fusitu'a are big men, Sol Kata is really powerful and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has so much speed. Aysh is a lot different but he's reliable and does a tremendous job for us.

"It's great to see him getting to this mark."

Foran still no certainty for Warriors debut

The Warriors desperately need Foran having lost three of their first four games of the season.

He was due to play last round against St George but was a late withdrawal after suffering a hamstring injury warming up.

Despite having a history of hamstring and back issues Foran said he hasn't had any problems for a year or so.

"It was really bizarre how it happened," he said.
