Samoan community welcomes new Samoa High Commissioner to Fiji

Amongst the attendees were 95-year old Marion Ah Sam from Faleasi’u, Tuese Vui Falo Keil, 86 years old from Samatau and many of the expatriate community of Samoans in Fiji.

A statement said the programme over the weekend commenced with a church service led by Rev. Professor Dr. Upolu Vaai, Principal of the Pacific Theological College in Suva.

This was followed by an ‘ava’ ceremony by Taupou Miss Tafaoganiu Kuiniselani Elisara.

Samoa highlights strides in gender equality at UN meet

Samoa’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Aliioaiga Feturi Elisaia  shared how Samoa has adopted to inclusive development in his presentation at the Commission on the Status of Women 61st Session in New York.

“As part of our on-going localisation effort, let me share how we have “Samoanised” the Beijing Platform since we met last March,” said Elisaia.
