Samoa establishes diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan

A Joint Communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries was signed in New York on 19 January.

The Joint Communiqué was signed by Permanent Representatives of both countries to the United Nations Yashar Aliyev and Ali'ioaiga Feturi Elisaia.

PACNEWS reports the document expresses the desire of Azerbaijan and Samoa to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between their countries and peoples.

Netanyahu and Modi praise 'new era' in India -Israel ties

The deals were announced after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held talks with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in Delhi on Monday.

Mr Modi said he wanted Israeli defence companies to invest in India.

Mr Netanyahu's visit comes a year after Mr Modi became the first Indian prime minister to visit Israel.

He arrived in Delhi on Sunday for a six-day visit along with a 130-member business delegation.

The two countries also signed deals where they agreed to cooperate in areas including cyber-defence, security and science.

Samoa and China exchange congratulatory messages

Xi Jinping pointed out in the message that since the establishment of the diplomatic relations 40 years ago, with concerted efforts of both sides, China and Samoa have maintained sound development in bilateral relations, and the China-Samoa friendship runs deep in the hearts of both peoples.

He had a successful meeting with Prime Minister Tuilaepa Lupesoliai Sailele Malielegaoi in Fiji last year, agreeing to establish a strategic partnership of mutual respect and common development.
