Duco puts heat on YouTube

Duco Events face a busy time checking that the radical move in Britain to go online with Parker's fight against Hughie Fury will transfer smoothly to New Zealand television.

Fury's promoters at Hennessy Sports have trumpeted their partnership with YouTube as ground-breaking for the sport, with viewers to pay £10 (NZ$18) to watch it in the UK and Ireland.

Duco boss David Higgins felt the development was "new and interesting" but wanted more time to "research the facts" before offering a firm opinion.

Duco Events directors announce 'complicated' split

Newshub reports the pair were behind the NRL Auckland Nines and the successful promotion of heavyweight boxing world champion Joseph Parker.

"We had a great journey and produced some amazing results but we both agree it is time to go our separate ways," Mr Higgins said in a statement.

Mr Lonergan said the partnership had been hugely successful but had now run its natural course.

"I wish David all the best," Mr Lonergan said.

NZ Government denies sponsorship for Joseph Parker's promoters

David Higgins, founder of Duco Events, said they will again approach the Samoan Government after they supported Parker's title bid in December.

Higgins told 1News he believed the funding application met all criteria.

"We received a letter just to say no there won't be any support. Of course we are disappointed but that's life, they make their judgements so be it," Higgins told 1News.

Duco were unable to gain funding from Tourism New Zealand before the December fight against Andy Ruiz, instead getting a $100,000 grant from Samoa.

Duco Events rule out having Joseph Parker on Manny Pacquiao's fight card in Australia

Joseph Parker's handlers will resist the temptation to have him involved in the Manny Pacquiao extravaganza in Australia in April.

Duco Events have been given the green light by Pacquiao's boss Bob Arum to nail down the finances for a late April fight for the WBO welterweight title against rising Australian Jeff Horn.

Duco promote Horn and Parker, the stars in their trans-Tasman stable.

Parker is looking to April for the first defence of his WBO heavyweight title.
