The pair have parted ways by mutual consent.

Both men agreed to the decision after Parker's points victory over Junior Fa in Auckland on Saturday night.

"Without Kevin I wouldn't be where I am today," Parker said.

"Together we made it to the very top. Kevin was with me every step of the way, guiding my progress inside and outside of the ring. So it is with genuine sadness that I confirm our partnership has come to an end.

That's the firm belief of Parker's trainer Kevin Barry after he analysed Joshua's 10th round stoppage of durable Frenchman Carlos Takam to defend his IBF and WBA titles in Cardiff on Sunday (NZT).

All the attention now moves to Joshua's next opponent - with Parker, as WBO champion, and American Deontay Wilder as the WBC belt holder, the names on everyone lips as unification hopes come into the frame for 2018.

Trainer Kevin Barry labelled Joseph Parker's UK debut "a pretty damn good win" and a result that will help set up the Kiwi heavyweight's future.

Parker retained his WBO world heavyweight title with a majority points decision over Hughie Fury in the Manchester Arena on Sunday.

While the Fury camp reacted angrily at the outcome, Barry had no doubts about the result and had plenty of praise for his 25-year-old fighter who got was scored 114-114, 118-110, 118-110 by a panel of American and British judges.

Barry and Parker are back in camp preparing for the September 23 title defence against Fury in Manchester.

It will be Parker's debut in the United Kingdom which has now supplanted the United States as the hotbed of the heavyweight scene.

Parker is eager to make an impact, knowing an impressive win over Fury will be a huge step towards bigger fights and bigger money.

"We are really excited about having our first fight in the UK. We have been trying to get there for the last 18 months. We need to explode on the scene in the UK," Barry told Boxing Scene.

Kevin Barry has taken a shot at no-show Hughie Fury, saying the British heavyweight "wouldn't have been able to hurt" Joseph Parker and would have produced an ugly performance for fans.

Fury pulled out of the WBO world heavyweight title fight scheduled for Auckland on May 6 at the weekend, citing a back injury. He has been replaced by the organisation's No 14 ranked fighter, Razvan Cojanu.

The bad blood between the Parker and Fury camps continues to spill.

The 24-year-old New Zealand Samoan Parker is unbeaten in 21 fights with 18 knockouts, while his opponent, Mexican-American Andy Ruiz Jr, has not lost in 29 pro bouts, including 19 knockouts.

Ruiz is coached by world renowned trainer Abel Sanchez, a man with 17 world champions to his name.

Barry himself is yet to train a world champion but he believes that'll change this weekend.

"When this fight was made, forget about being a coach, as a boxing fan, and the people I spoke to, said this fight is a great fight," he said.
