SBW enjoying Sevens

The All Black Sevens finished top of Pool A - winning three from three pool matches over Samoa, France and Kenya - but it wasn't as smooth sailing as normal.

The Gordon Tietjens-coached team comfortably overcame Samoa 28-10 but lacked conviction in beating France 19-17 with a late Tim Mikkelson five-pointer and they pipped Kenya 5-0 thanks to a try to veteran DJ Forbes with two minutes remaining.

Manu Samoa 7s look to kick on

RNZI reports the Manu recorded their best finish of the season, beating the United States 31-19 to take out the Plate title.

It is just the second time in six tournaments Samoa qualified for the Cup quarter finals, amid a horror run of injury and illness.
