Suspended NPO Director's case

No charges finalized yet in suspended NPO Director's court case

Justice Vaepule Vaemoa Vaai told the court the adjournment follows two main reasons where the Supreme Court has to rule on a prosecuting side and the charges have to be finalized.

The charges were to have been finalized today.

“I do not have the authority and nor do I care who prosecutes the case. All I want is a prosecutor from the Supreme Court’s ruling and the final charges because I don’t want any surprise charges to come in later during the hearings,” said Justice Vaepule.

Suspended NPO Director’s Case Adjourned, Prosecutors to Determine who will Prosecute

Chang is being represented by Aumua Ming Leung Wai while the prosecution is yet to determine who will prosecute the case.

In court were Satiu Simativa Perese, an independent lawyer from New Zealand hired by the Attorney General’s Office and Brenda Heather Latu who says she has been delegated by the NPO.

The two prosecutors took up most of the time in court debating whether and who is more suitable by law to take on the task of prosecuting the case.
