Expedia is the world’s largest online travel company that operates out of Washington, USA. It brings together a collection of the world’s leading travel brands.
It books airline tickets, hotel reservations, car rentals, cruises, vacation packages and various attractions and services via the World Wide Web and telephone travel agents.
This is the latest, exciting development to the National Carrier’s line-up of milestones in its brief, revamped history.
This has far reaching benefits not just for the airline, but for Samoa as well as a tourist destination.
“Being live on the world’s largest travel platform opens up opportunities for the airline, as well as inbound tourism to Samoa as a whole. This is especially so as it is a one-stop shop to package flights and accommodation from its comprehensive range of bookable Samoan resorts and hotels that are available on its network”, said Chief Executive Officer, Tupuivao Seiuli Alvin Tuala.
In addition to being accessible to consumers across Australia and New Zealand, Samoa Airways flights will also be available to travel agents who are members of Expedia’s comprehensive Travel Agent Affiliate Programme (TAAP).
“This is all part of ongoing efforts to broaden Samoa Airways’ distribution reach and also to partner with the travel industry’s leading companies and subsequently build its profile and brand footprint, especially in the key markets of Australia and New Zealand”, said Tupuivao.
With Samoa Airways now live on Expedia and its Affiliate Platforms in Australia and New Zealand such as Wotif.com, the airline is progressing plans to activate the necessary support platform which will allow the airline to also be available in other regions including North America and others.
The airline said it acknowledges the support of the Expedia team in activating Samoa Airways.
