Student tells why USP is her University of choice

Students like Fuatino Vaiaoualuli, who turned up at The University of the South Pacific’s orientation gave their testimonials on how they chose the University as their tertiary education provider.

Vaiaoualuli attended the university’s Faculty of Business and Economic orientation in Suva this week.

The 19 year old, who came all the way from Samoa, said it was not easy leaving her family behind.

“This is my first time in Fiji and although I look forward to new friends here I really miss my family back home. I know I will get used to being away from them so I need to work hard.

“They have very high hopes for me and I will not disappoint them,” she said.

She said in Samoa there are a lot of USP alumni working for Government and NGO’s and she hoped that one day she would share their experience and join them too.

“I am the first one in my family to attend USP and I want to make them proud eventually,” she noted.

Vaiaoualuli is one of several Samoan students sponsored by the Australia Awards at USP.
